Will open with key. The truck latch will not catch and hold. Does fine when it is cold out, but when it is warm it just will not close. The automatic switch to open the trunk is worthless..as is the automatic opening by the handle inside the car.
Only thing that I can see is that the plastic piece that covers the latch catch gives when it is hot therefore the latch is not catching and holding.

My trunk has been off limits for about a year before we found a way in. It has been very frustrating not being able to travel because of this inconvenience. We are in the process of replacing the parts.

argh!
i can't this stupid trunk lock open.
any help, from anyone with same problem
auto lock system is down as well.
i got in the trunk taking trim apart and reaching in to pull the release.
then bang bang bang,, pry pry to no avail.
