The car is just 1,000 miles past warranty, and there is nothing that they can do to cover it. One ford dealership is saying that the entire throttle body must be replaced while the other is saying that a simple cleaning would be sufficient. The price difference between these two places is 400, but to even get my car from the present service department a diagnostic fee must be charged. The question was asked how the whole throttle body could need to be replaced on such a new car, and the response was that the maintenance was not done as it should have been done. Funny fact is that this car has always been serviced by Ford and on time for all maintenance appointments. The ford service department had nothing to say to this. At this point the car is being repaired. With no help from the Ford Customer Care line. After the car is "fixed" it will be traded in within the next month to two months for a non-Ford vehicle. Multiple problems have occurred with this car under warranty as well, and I am tired of the hassle of fixing a brand new car. The whole purpose of buying new was to avoid all the expensive repair charges, but clearly that is not the case with the 2004 Ford Focus.
