CarComplaints.com Notes: You should probably steer clear of the 2012 Focus. Otherwise, you might not be able to steer at all.

The 2012 is the first Focus to offer Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS). It's also the first year with massive power steering failure. These things are not mutually exclusive.

And while you wait for your steering to disappear, you'll be greeted with a transmission that shudders, vibrates or won't shift at all.

Yet another thing to fail on this horrible car. I have always owned older cars. thought I was avoiding costly repairs by buying a 2 year old car. the air conditioner stopped working. Shouldn't be having to deal with this on a car this old.

The problem I have with this is that the part is on back order with at least 66 people in front of me I don't know when I will get my car back from the dealer It should be on recall if that many people are having problems in a vehicle that isn't 5 years old. They say it is not a safety issue but it is when you live in the north and your window will not defrost and you can't see to drive down the road.

Problem continually occurred. I had to take car in 10 times-no exaggeration-for days at a time. Each time, problem allegedly fixed, but failed after a few days.

Once, failed before I left the Dealer's Lot. Once it happened before I left the parking spot.

Very frustrating. A lot of wasted time.

Not safe when Defrost failed.

Actually asked by the Dealer if I opened and closed door to reboot the Heating system.

Whole experience was horrible.
