Freestar SES 3.9L

  • Automatic transmission

Stuterville Ford in Ponca city, Ok will not honor the campaign (11s25) for the torque converter and states that there is no such recall that affects 450,000 Ford Freestar vehicles with either the 4.9 or 3.9 litter engines. Even though there is a recall and also recall #12V006000

problem #1

Jan 302015

Freestar 4.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,784 miles

Had towed to dealer and they could not duplicate.

Had happened before but always would be drivable after a short wait. Usually if waited 15-30 min.

This time after 3hours, still no go other than a tow truck.

Update from Feb 28, 2015: Just adding that I had the torque converter recall done, but before the work was done the transmission was working just fine. So the question is did I just get a bad replacement part or is their more to the problem
