Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Dashboard has pulled up around passenger airbag. I am just getting around to reporting this, but I see many other complaints on this issue that should be something Ford recalls and fix due to a safety hazard. Bulged around airbag as well.

Right side dashboard lifted up where the airbag is located. I took it to Ford paso robles, ca they didn't have a solution to repair other then take it to an upholstery company maybe they could glue it down. Doesn't seem very safe - the airbag could get caught on it.

The dashboard had begun to slightly bulge and has now peeled away from the passenger side air bag. After researching online, this appears to be a very widespread issue, of which Ford has no remedy in place for except replacing the entire dash. For a car with relatively low miles over the course of ownership, this seems like an issue that should be corrected. I have no way of knowing how it may affect deployment of the air bag, and I'm not sure I want to find out.

In the summer of 2013 I noticed that the passenger dash was coming undone (separating from the dash and sticking up) in front of the airbag of my 2008 Ford Fusion. The dash is now curled up so much that I fear that it may interfere with the deployment of the passenger airbag. At the time of this complaint, there are no known statements regarding the foam vinyl separating from the dash. I would like to know if any research has been conducted to ensure that this does not affect the deployment of the passenger airbag.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the dashboard was separating from the front passenger side to the passenger side. The windshield liner separated and cracked, which also exposed foam. The contact also stated that the dashboard separated at the instrument panel lighting system control area, causing the light cover panel to fracture and expose the wires. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The dashboard was not replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

A few years back I got into my 2008 Ford Fusion and I remember it being a very hot summer day. I looked over at my passenger side air bag/dash board area and part of the dash where the seam is, was sticking out. I was able to push it back in right away but now I can't. the dash above where the air bag is just always sticks out now. I figured since it was so hot that day that's why it happened. I still have never been able to get it fixed and it doesn't seem safe to me. I've looked on numerous websites and have read that many other people with the same car and year have had this issue.

The passenger side air bag, the dash that covers it is opening up. For a car this car that is from 2008 should not be happening. For the dash to becoming up like that to where you can see the air bag is really bad. What happens if the air bag goes off and gets suck on the tip of the open dash someone could get really hurt or even die. I did take it to the Ford company and they said that I would have to pay close to 1,000 dollars to get it fix and that it would not count as a recall. I have not got it fix and I am hoping that it does not get worse as time goes on.

Glue holding vinyl around passenger airbag is bad. You can see the foam padding underneath. Dealer and local body shop will not fix. Will not purchase another vehicle that does not have one piece vinyl on dashboard.

The dashboard right by the passenger airbag is warping. The Ford dealer wants $1000 to replace it on a car that is 6 years old when it should not be warping already. I believe this is a safety concern to airbag potentially not deploying correctly.

I cannot exit the vehicle driver's side using the inside door handle. I have to roll the window down and then open the door with the outside handle. This problem has occurred on its own. There was no accident or anything like that. It just stopped working one day. I have been on line and other Fusion owners are experiencing the same problem and have contacted Ford as I have and Ford won't do anything about it. I feel that this is a serious problem in that, if I were in an accident, and the battery cable got cut so there was no power to the vehicle, I would have to climb over the center counsel to exit the vehicle through the passenger door if it didn't become inoperable in the accident. I would assume that this problem could also occur with the passenger door as well so I'm not feeling all that safe at the moment. I'm going to spend the money to get it repaired, but in today's economy, some people couldn't afford that.

Dash board is curling up around the passenger side air bag.the front window defrost vent is coming out of the dash board. We have had the door handles break in half replaced.this is a safety issue the dash could come apart at any time or the passenger air bag could go off? w/ the front window vent out of the cut out in the dash this part on the driver side up could pop up and cause the window to break.
