Fusion 6-cyl

  • 66,800 miles
We own a 2008 Ford Fusion 6 cyl. AWD. Shortly after we bought it we started having trouble with the rear passenger door. The door handle on the outside will not go back into place and the door will not shut. The drivers door handle on the inside broke and cracked and door will not lock. Here lately when we are driving all of a sudden the car will sound like a sledge hammer is being banged underneath the car making the car shake. We were told that it is either the transferring case or some other car. It will cost $950 or $1500 for the part not counting labor fees. The dealership did not give us the warranty that they said it came with. We were told by the mechanic that this problem is common with the Ford Fusion and the Ford escape. For some reason the AWD wants to kick in when you reach 25 mph. If this is a common problem then these vehicles need to be recalled before someone gets hurt. Everyone that rides in our car and it starts acting up, wants to jump out of the car.
