Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't

Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.

2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

Driving highway speed with the cruise control active, on my way to work. Turned off the cruise and the car "bucked." The wrench warning light came on. It would lose RPM and then go back up again. Turned around and went home. I didn't want to be stranded at 4:30 in the morning. Got home, turned the car off, and restarted, and the light was off. Took it to the Ford dealer and they said it's the throttle body. car for some reason isn't covered under the extended warranty. I have a 6 speed manual. It uses the same throttle body as automatic transmission cars. What gives??

I own a 2010 Ford Fusion SE, I purchased it while my husband was deployed in 2010. It had 17 miles, when I bought it. I am the first owner. It seemed like a great car. In owning the car I have had to get the alternator changed- 2 years into owning the car. And recently the car has been riding "rougher" than usual. Also the RPM's will randomly go up and down. And when I am at a red night and my foot is on the pedal, the car kind of "jumps" a little bit... this should not be happening since my foot is on the brake. I don't know if this is transmission related or what- but Ford really needs to get this recalled it is quite dangerous. This morning the car was really acting odd. I will be calling a mechanic today and see what are my options with this car. I am terrified that I will be driving with my two young children in the car and the car start acting up- especially since my husband is deployed once again to the middle East with us air force. Ford figure out the problem with this car before it causes accidents or worse fatalities!

Well I previously had a problem with the transmission shifting gears and jerking. Well come to find out it was from a low fluid level caused by a leaking drive shaft. One of more than 2000 known to have this problem. Ford needs to take care of this or I am going back to imports again.

When cold vehicle free revs before abruptly slamming into next gear this could cause damage to the automatic transmission or loss of vehicle control in adverse conditions. I have heard of numerous other complaints specific to this model. The manufacturer needs to address these concerns immediately!

Went to pull onto interstate and when tried to accelerate the vehicle wouldn't speed up. Also the engine RPM's would accelerate and cause hard shifts which has progressively gotten worse, the vehicle doesn't want to start when the fuel level gets low enough to turn the low fuel light on either. All of the above problems have gotten worse over the past month.

Driving in far left lane at highway speed. The car had been on for about 10 minutes after sitting in parking lot all day. It was 96 degrees. Car started to vibrate and slow down. I noticed that the tool light was on. Obviously I had entered into limp mode and found a way to cross four lanes of rush hour traffic to make it to the emergency lane. Once stopped engine loped erratically and would not accelerate. Engine was non-responsive to pedal changes. Put car in park and shut the engine off. I waited 30 seconds and started the car again and drove home (26 miles) without further incident. It should be noted that I have experienced surging in the engine this past week. Symptoms point to the throttle body; but this is speculation as I have not had the car diagnosed by a professional. I am aware that there is a current investigation into this matter. This event happened at highway speeds and could have been disastrous. Driving can be inherently dangerous and parts do break; but, the fact that this has been a known issue for quite some time warrants an additional report.

Couple months ago the car started to have problems shifting from one gear to another. The main problems was from 1 to 2. at a time, on a red light, the car didn't move for a few seconds even though the accelerator was being pressed. Then the car suddenly jump and started going. The car started jump from one gear to another. Later there was a transmission oil leak. And the car is getting worse there is no smooth transition between the velocities and the dealer said we had to paid for labor and parts. It seems unfair to have to pay for a manufacturer's issue. The transmission on this model is defective and there should be a check-out to this problem.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration power. The vehicle was able to be restarted but the failure recurred three times over a period of one year. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Second time happen I was stopped dropping off wife and when I started to go, the car started to shake and sputter and the transmission went out of gear again. Had to coast to empty area. Both times, I shut of engine waited 30 seconds/minute and restarted and continued on without problem.

In a nut shell the car would not accelerate properly it kept dying out every time I would mash on the accelerator.went to autozone and had a scanner put on the vehicle and a number of codes came back pointing to the throttle accelerator control when looking for the part it came back as the entire throttle body. Then come to find out the part had to be ordered, then it could nto be ordered from any retailer, went to the dealer one day to get the part and it was purchaseable, went back the next day to find it was a recall on that part went to another dealer to have the recall honored and they gave me this spill about the cost of a diagnostic test, saying it had to be done before they could know for sure if it was the throttle body. Then later that day they call back saying it was some kind of air hose that a rat had chewed through. Sounds like a bunch of hoorah to me. Tell me what do you think.

Similar story to other postings regarding automatic transmission: Increasingly prolonged shifting between low gears (running at increasingly higher rpms before shifting), car periodically jerks forward when accelerating from 0, and now transmission fluid is leaking from left half shaft seal. Will cost over $500 to replace seal, but will take a few days for the dealer to get the "kit, " because there are 2000 back-orders!!!! originally bought the car because of high ratings, and my disappointments with Honda and Toyota, and the rumor that Ford stopped building crappy cars - guess some things never change (except, of course, how much they charge for crap). Would love to find a decent, reasonably priced car, but suspect they no longer exist.

My vehicle regularly "bucks" and has issues shifting. There is an apparent transmission problem and known leaking issue on this model of the Ford Fusion. There are over a 1000 complaints about this on the internet that I have found and Ford refuses to do anything about it. This is a fault of theirs and they should be responsible for this fix!

I was driving at approximately 45 mph, when suddenly the car started to violently shake and decelerated to 10 mph. The "check engine" and wrench icon lights came on. I referred to my owner's manual, which directed me to take my car to the dealership. I drove slowly for 4 miles to the nearest Ford dealership. They informed me that the issue was with the "throttle body" and said that is would need to be replaced at a cost of $550 (incl. Parts and labor). I had the part replaced at that time and the problem appears to be resolved.

Wife was driving down 4 lane highway when car stalled and died due to bad throttle body. Cars behind her had to change lanes, one truck had to slam on brakes. The red wrench light came on. I've heard other complaints on the very same issue with nothing being done. I'm reporting now because I've got another issue with the driver side axle leak. Also another issue I've seen multiple reports on. I bought extended warranty but have been out $200 for deductible. These are issues that Ford needs to step up and make recalls. The bad thing is I've had to wait for the parts both times because its such a bad issue that everything is on backorder. Please get these things taken care of before someone gets seriously hurt. My wife was very close to getting hit by a big truck. I think people that have been out money for these things should also get refunded. There needs to be a recall on both issues. Thank you..
