Rec'd recall #01V390000. Took vehicle to dealer for repairs of cooling fan. After repairs were done & was driving vehicle, the remedy failed. Fan stopped working. Caused engine to get hotter & then blew radiator & reservoir caps off. This had damaged the vehicle.

While driving 35-40 mph and without warning vehicle overheated. Mechanic stated there was recall 1I011000 concerning engine cooling fan overheating. However, it only covered up to 100 thousand miles. Consumer had 117 thousand miles on vehicle.

While at a stop consumer noticed smoke under the hood. Consumer popped hood and vehicle was on fire. Cause was unknown. Consumer states that while vehicle was stopped fan motor bearing seized causing fun to lock up and caused wiring to overheat and ignited the engine, vehicle has been recalled but dear refused to repair, NHTSA campaign id number: 01I011000.

Prior to recall 01S30, the engine overheated with smoke billowing from underneath the vehicle hood. Also, after the first repair the vehicle seriously overheated again. The consumer was asking the manufacturer to reimburse him for the two repairs.

Vehicle overheated while consumer was driving, and there was coolant all over the engine. Dealer replaced thermostat, but the problem still occurred. Consumer states that Ford recalled the vehicle as the engine cooling fan could over heate and cause a fire, campaign#01I011000, the fan was inspected and a circuit breaker was installed, the circuit breaker turned off this fan once the vehicle was placed into forward motion, this caused vehicle to overheat. Vehicle towed to a local Ford with some minor fire. Consumer traded in the vehicle with different problems like vibration and engine noise.

Dealership examined vehicle and determined engine cooling fan has failed and repairs were being made to correct the problem.

Vehicle starting to over heat, cooling fan not coming on during normal operation, only operated while A/C was on. Received recall 01S30, dealer set appt.1/08/02.vehicle not driven 5days prior. Dealer had vehicle 4days, installed circuit breaker, stated vehicle ready, but still overheating, head gaskets damaged.warranty would not cover, fan was not seized up, therefore it works.believe additional problems with fan exist.
