The car began sputtering and then the engine died after pulling off of the interstate. The wrench light flashed and then the check engine light came on and stayed on. The car was analyzed at the Ford dealership and diagnosed with the throttle body assembly actuator as the problem. There currently is no recall. The labor and part were $430.16 I should be reimbursed by Ford for this since it is a safety issue. I was fortunate there were no cars behind me. The technician indicated there was a life safety issue.

Was traveling on a freeway when a the care lost power and began slowing down. A little wrench icon appeared. I there was no place to pull over so I turned on flashers and rode on the highway until the care stopped. Traffic behind me swerved to avoid my car. I restarted the vehicle and continued on my way. The vehicle failed 3 more times on the way home.

It's known on the forums at the internet the problem that the V6 Mustangs from 2011 and on are having. The V6 Mustang's with automatic transmissions are presenting a problem when coming to a stop or when you push the gas rapidly, the shifting of the car has some kind of lateness response causing when you come to a stop to feel like a bang in the car after you have come to a stop or when you step on the gas the car wont react rapidly. This cars are presenting some kind of problem with some internal parts on the transmission (solenoids) and when you take the cars to the dealerships for repair the employees always says that there is nothing wrong with the cars. Ford is not taking responsibility of this defects on the V6's automatics because they don't want to make a recall on the cars and they know what the cars have. I'm asking for your company to take action on this matter since there are a lot of us out there with this problem and when you take the car to the dealerships is always the same thing. Please check on the forums and see how many of us are presenting this kind of problem. It's time that Ford comes out and assume the responsibility on this matter.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Mustang. The contact was driving approximately 10 mph when a grinding noise was heard from the vehicle. In addition, there was a delayed response from the manual transmission when shifting into second or third gear. The failure recurred when driving between 10-30 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the old transmission fluid was removed and replaced with a higher grade. The failure continued to recur. There was a technical service bulletin under NHTSA action number: 1003914 (power train: Manual transmission) that was possibly related to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 10.

Mild to violent vibration from manual transmission upon downshifting for deceleration on exit ramp in the range of 5500-2500 RPM. Mild to violent shaking felt through car...steering wheel, shifter, pedals...seats... engine speed is matched to transmission speed prior to clutch engagement. I've been driving manual shift cars, Mustang GT, small british and american cars for over 35 years. When staying in third gear for example in traffic that speeds up and slows down, vibrations come on above 2500 RPM this is an intermittent problem. More noticeable now in the warm weather. I drive about 35 miles each way to and from work. When the car is thoroughly warmed, I experience it everyday now in the warm weather. Placed into Ford dealer in Decatur, al. He kept the car 4 complete days and after waiting for news I went and got it back. As I was leaving the dealer, the service manager who never looked up from his paperwork, said "we couldn't find anything". when I put the car in for service it had 34000 miles on it. Now it has over 36,000. This is getting worse with age and mileage. I wonder if at 50000 miles if the car will be undriveable?

2011 shelby GT500 - brought this car in for grinding into 2nd gear (all other gears seem fine..at the moment). Was told that all Ford would do is replace 2nd gear, which they did and was also told that it was our driving and replacing 2nd gear is all that they would do. We were told by the regional rep and engineer that...quoted - "we have to have the clutch all the way down to the floor before shifting (engaged). The reason it will grind between 1st and 2nd and not into the other gears is because vehicle has bigger jump in RPM from 1st to 2nd. Vehicle is shifting correctly as designed.". totally disagree...very upsetting since it is their flagship car and am told this is all they will do.

After I first purchased the vehicle I noticed a vibration in the shifter which eminated from the transmission. I took it back to the Ford dealership aprroximately a month or more later and was informed there was no issue with the transmission. However, to this day there exists a very noticable vibration with increasing episodes of difficulty changing gears between # 5 to 2, either shifting up or down. It is more noticable when down shifting. On more than one occasion I had to shift into another gear above what I was attempting to go for because the gear would not connect into proper placement. This caused a brief back up when going onto the freeway with several cars behind me due to the transmission being stuck in a particular gear setting (#3). This cleared once I changed to a lower gear ratio.

When shifting from 1st to 2nd gear transmission will not shift, it must be force into 2nd gear. Also 5th gear grinds at normal highway speeds. Vehicle will not shift into reverse unless engine is off, must shift to reverse, start engine and then vehicle will move in reverse. While driving there is no vibration, nor whinning noises. Once vehicle has been shut down and engine is cold, can not shift into 1st gear, after vehicle has set over night, can only place into 1st gear before startup.

The transmission displays grinding noises and difficulty upshifting from 2nd to 3rd or 4th to 5th when the clutch is pressed all the way down. I have issues getting car into 1st gear from neutral at a red light sometimes. Transmission will not allow me to go into reverse when clutch is pushed down to floor during cold starts. Transmission feels and sounds clunky when shifting into all gears. This is what happens when we have our transmissions made in china. Skip shift is not causing damaged synchros, broken shift forks and shattered gear teeth inside the numerous failed MT82's; low quality components and materials is causing it.

I have a 2011 Ford Mustang shelby GT500 and I was waiting at a stop light finally I had a clear shot to go I started to go turning left went to shift it in 2nd gear and it would not go into 2nd it just grinded for a few seconds then went into gear seconds before a car was coming and slammed on its brakes barley hitting me. Then anytime and everytime I merge into traffic getting on the highway shifting from 4th to 5th gear my 5th gear grinds or disappears and I sometimes get ran off the high one time I almost got rearended. My reverse and 5th gear were grinding bad around 1700 miles brought it to Ford they replaced 5th reverse forks and syncros still didn't solve the problem still does it today at 2700 miles. Please help me thanks.

Unsuspecting shift issue, some what dangerous. Shifting problem, almost overnight 24 hour period. Does not want to shift, 6 speed manual. Repeated technical service reports found online, about fluid, about bolts loosing, sheering of pins and similar issues with 6 speed trans. Ford won't discuss fixing anything, I am told that "abuse" has caused the issues. I am looking into repairs at private shop. Ford needs to stand behind there short comings, and not dump it on consumers.

I was driving my 2011 Ford Mustang GT at approximately 6pm on 1 March 2012. I shifted from 2nd to 3rd and when I did, the clutch pedal stayed on the floor. I could smell excessive clutch wear after the incident. I am thankful that I am an experienced driver and was able to stop the vehicle safely. Now the clutch stays engaged and you can not shift in to any gear while the car is running. Ford has refused to warranty the repairs. Mileage at the time 27,000.

I read several details about people having difficulty shifting in high revs or when driving fast but I do neither. I travel at highway speeds and have had difficulty shifting from one gear to another and end up reducing my speed in order to have the transmission engage or even speed up just to "hunt" for the next gear. On three occasions this has caused me concern while driving on surface streets becasue traffic is heavy and some people drive very fast and close. I am getting ready (next week) to take my car to the dealer and have them examine the problem becasue it is causing me concern about my saferty and that of family members. My wife does not want to drive it anymore becasue she was also experiencing shifting difficulties. Additionally, there is a vibration occurring while shifting or getting ready to shift that has never occurred in any other manual transmission vehicle I have owned.

The car began to have intermittent shifting problems about 3-4 months after I bought the car. When slowing down and then accelerating, the car would not shift into gear and then lurch and make a popping noise (first time it did this, I thought someone had bumped my car in traffic). I dismissed it the first few times it happened. Then it began to happen on a more frequent basis, not as bad as the few prior times but more frequently. I took the car to the dealership back in July or August 2011 and was told they could not duplicate the problem. After that I took the car in 3 more times and was told the same thing. Finally this week, I called Ford Motor Company and now their customer relations department is handling my case. The car has been at the dealership since Tuesday and I was told yesterday they think it is a bad shifting solenoid and have ordered the part. I'm not even confident as this point, if replacing the solenoid is going to fix the problems. I wanted to make a complaint as I know you are investigating Ford Mustangs for the shifting issues. I am concerned as there have been several times I thought I was going to have an accident because the car would not shift properly and accelerate. I believe that the only reason the issues on my car have finally been addressed is because I called Ford directly. It appears according to the information that I have been able to locate on line, Ford may have known about the shifting problems since mid last year but the consumer has been left in the dark about the issue.

Purchased new 2011 Mustang GT. Been having problems with gears being very notchy and difficult to shift. I have had 2 accounts where I was nearly rearended while coming off a yield due to the fact that 4th gear would not shift in place. 4th gear consistently locks at high RPM, 5th gear grinds, and all gears are hard to manage in below 60 degree temperatures. It has been at the dealership for a month and a half, got it back and within 2 weeks the same problems arose. Currently back at the dealership. Ford has done nothing to resolve this recurring issue.

Just a few of the issues I had while my car. I was told there was no problem with my car after I almost got killed twice because it would not down shift into lower gears at highway speeds. Trans will look up once shifter is in between gears and will not go into gears still speed and RPM slow down. Most evident when trying to go from 6th to 4th. I was almost in an accident twice because I was not able to down shift to get out of the way of a oncoming traffic. Had a cracked rim that was obviously a casting defect. Had a ticking in the engine after long trips.. 5.0 sounded like a diesel.
