Ranger XLT 3.2 V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 78,000 miles

My truck with the small V6 and 5 speed transmission gets less gas mileage than what is advertised for a V8 with Automatic. I drive fairly slow and don't race between stop lights. Mostly the bed is empty but I have carried items weighing 300 or more pounds for short distances. I have considered putting in a Flowmaster system (from the catalytic converter back), A low restriction air filtration system, a set of tuned exhaust headers and possibly a fiber glass hood ;if It would gain enough gas mileage to justify the cost.
