Having a problem with the four wheel drive system...the pulse hubs? Some time back, the front end driver's side was beginning to rattle...suspected the wheel bearings and replaced those, but problem still persists.Found that when the 4x4 is disengaged, the driver's side axle was sitting loosely in the hub assembly...In the process of purchasing a new vehicle...Oh,and the tranny slipped on me ealier this year, resulting in a four grand fix

Yes we have the dome light, wiper malfunction, engine idle control, piss poor gas mileage problem.

Fixed by replacement of electrical module. Took Ford dealer several times to get correct module for that year.

If you get the wrong module it kind of works.

Very serious is that shifting and idle control use this module also and if not fixed the vehicle will overheat and blow the head gasket or crack the block.

That's us.

Very unhappy.

Typically diagnosed as bad thermostat.

Sell it before you spend to much money on it like we did

I detached the battery to get the bulbs cooled off so I could get them out.

This is the problem I dislike the most about my ranger...here's why: I bought my ranger used in Sept. 2001 from a local dealership. Just a few months after that I began having the door ajar light and the dome light come on while driving. The switch on the dome light itself doesn't seem to work at all so that won't solve it. I've tried spraying different parts of the latch mechanism with WD-40, that didn't work. The only resolution I've found to work is removing the bulb from the dome entirely and keeping a flashlight in the side-pocket in the door so I can actually see stuff in my car at night. I will try the fuse trick, but honestly don't think it will solve it permanently. This isn't just annoying, this is dangerous. If you're driving on the freeway at night in rain with heavy traffic and the dome light suddenly comes on without expecting it, it really impairs your visibility and could cause a serious accident. If there is not a recall on this yet, I have no idea why.

I live in a cool climate, when I go inland and the weather warms up 90 plus weird electrical stuff happens, the dome light stays on, the door ajar light stays on even though the door is shut, sometimes I get some beeping as if the diagnostic code is going off? I have found that pulling the fuse resets the light most of the time. Also I have had a problem with the auto transmission getting stuck in I think second gear, I disconnected the battery which fixed the problem.

Local dealer told me that to remedy this problem just simply spray wd-40 into door clasp area. IT WORKED.

The dome light frequently stays on when you close the doors, and it is not the switches. It also will come on be itself while you are driving... not fun at all when you are driving at night.
