Frame cracked at passenger shock mount. Had professionally welded, lasted about 3 months.....cracked again. Went to an even more prestigious shop lasted about another 3 months, cracked again. They are telling me it was inferior design/metal. Not sure what the heck to do now ---- scrap out????!! Seriously unsafe.

The 2001 ford ranger 4x4 has a weak frame by the rear shockmounts because there are cracks around the shockmounts on bothsides and the truck has never been offroad and it has never pulled any trailers. So the manufacturer put a too heavy of a suspension for the rear of truck or they just made a sh*tty frame for the Ford Rangers. I think ford should stand behind their slogan FORD TOUGH and replace any bad frames they produced. Because there is nothing FORD TOUGH ABOUT THE FORD RANGER 4X4 TRUCK FRAME.
