You cannot park with the engine off and the key in the ignition, first of all the interior light stays on and it beeps endlessly (so no listening to the stereo). If the key is removed, the beeping stops but the light stays on for about 10 minutes, then goes out. When first starting the truck the light comes on and stays on until you have gone about 30 feet, then it goes out. Of course with the interior lights on it is near impossible to see out the windows, trying to back out, especially in a crowded parking lot, is a real hazard. You can pull the fuse, but then you have no dash lights, speed o'meter, or passenger airbag.
