Noticed this probable associated with outside Temp. Seems when it is below 50F the light and door ajar lights go off, once it hits above 60F its on all the time. Strange.

I had a Mechanic tell me to replace the switch - I cant find no frigging switch!

I can't seem to find out how to fix the dome lite and door ajar signal, that stay on all the time. I just purchased this '02 /ranger a couple of months ago and I had no light from the dome lite, when I checked there was no bulb in it. After I installed a new bulb,it stayed on all the time, that's why there was no bulb in it when I purchased it. So I figure there is something that's make the door ajar lite stay on and the dome lite too. Any suggestions, wiring diagrams or whatever will help Thanks

Dealers are a rip off. ask around if you have a problem before you take it to a dealer.

Ranger XLT 4.0L V6

The light stayed on all the time I tried to clean and oil the latches. Took the truck to a local mechanic who got further in depth and took the door apart and checked the wiring harness to see what the problem was. He couldn't find it so I took it to the dealer. The tech knew what was the problem immediately he said the latches had to be replaced. He replaced them and since then the problem has been rectified. It cost roughly $200.00 but I believe I could have gotten it done cheaper if I took more time to shop around.

the door ajar indicator light and the dome light stay on 90 percent of the time even after the truck is locked. Seems like something is loose. The door ajar light sometimes comes on when I'm driving on a rough road. And worst of all I can't find a switch or sensor on the door jams. If anyone has a solution please answer.
