Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

I had a front end impact with a dirt embankment going between 40-45 mph head on and the air bags did not deploy. My truck sustained around $15,000 worth of damage. They claim that my husbands passenger was not heavy enough to deploy the airbags, he weighed around 189 pds. They had to replace the airbag sensors and modules. Now when someone sits in the passengers seat it says that it is not activated. I don't feel safe in this truck any more. My husband broke his back in 2 spots and ruptured 2 disks, he had to have back surgery and I think if the airbags deployed this would not of happened.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Ranger sport. The contact was driving 45 mph when he crashed into an embankment. The air bags did not deploy and the contact was injured. A police report was available. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the dealer advised that the air bags should have deployed. The impact was severe enough that the entire frame would need replacing. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that shortly after repairs, the passenger air bag warning light remained illuminated stating that the air bag was off. The failure mileage was 32,770 and the current mileage was 34,685.
