Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

: the contact stated while approaching a stop at 15 mph the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle did not stop, causing a rear end collision with another vehicle. The brake pedal went to the floor and was spongy. Seat belts were in use and minor injuries were sustained by both the contact and passenger. There was a police report filed and the vehicle was towed. The insurance inspector has not disclosed the cause of the accident. The manufacturer was not alerted.

I have a 98 Ford Taurus and the ABS light came on the brakes were not working properly. They would kick back and I could hear a popping sound. So I took it to a care place and the hooked it to the computer it said a bad passenger rear sensor. $200 later the problem wasn't fixed. Now they say it is the main modular sensor oh that's $700. Well the bad thing is I know of 2 other people that have the same problem. This car is suppose to be a safe vehicle. But I'm not impressed and would never buy one again. I think with this many complaints there should be a recall.

The ABS light comes on intermittently. Took it to the service station today and they told me the ABS computer went. At only 67000 miles" what gives" $600 repair. Also door ajar light stays on all the time. Had to disconnect the bulb in the interior lights so the battery doesn't run down. Car squeaks when making turns, A/C rattles. Not happy with this car at all.

The braking system is horrible and dangerous. I change brakes every 20,000 miles or less. I drive highway miles and should be changing as often. All I get told by the dealer is that they need to be changed every 20K miles. The car shakes and makes noises.

We've tried to contact Ford several times, but only receive the standard courtesy letter & "they will look into it". in the meantime, anyone in that car is at risk due to the seriousness of the problem. Our own children can't ride in it! we have to have a vehicle to get to work, so we'll have to try to get rid of it, since Ford refuses to respond. All we would want is it fixed! there's also a problem with the paint peeling off of the front bumper that will cost $250 to fix!

This vehicle was purchased with good brakes, with approximately 30000 miles we have replaced pads 4 times, and also have replaced the calipers & rotors, and now the speed sensor. Is this an ongoing problem with this vehicle? the unit is smoking when driven.
