When it is most inconvenient, during the bitter cold winters in Minnesota, the door will not latch shut. It will close but it won't latch no matter if you try locking it or slamming it several times. The cold causes something in the latching mechanism to fail and until you heat the car up by driving your door will swing open unless you find a way to keep it shut. Not a good situation if you need to drive somewhere or leave your car and have the doors stay locked and shut. I have had this car for about 4 years and it has been a giant P.O.S. Stupid things like this happen all the time but that sort of shotty craftsmanship shouldn't surprise anybody who owns and American made vehicle.
We have partnered with JustAnswer to offer online auto repair help and advice from expert professional automotive technicians. You describe your accessories - exterior problem or ask your question and they try to help you figure it out. The fee is typically $9 to $15, but you can offer to pay more for really tough questions. You will usually receive an answer in 10 minutes or less, and you do not have to pay anything unless you accept the answer.
