The engine did not shift properly and I was concerned of damage hapenning to the engine. The problem was diagnosed with the read out, but the sensor for the 2000 was made different for january and june models! I had to buy both because ford was not sure of the one used in my car!
After replacing the car rode fine, replacing was not that bad, as long as the windshield wiper cowling is removed first then the sensor sits on top of the transmission down 2 ft, between the fire wall and the engine. Only one screw is removed to replace the sensor. (but many for the cowling)
