Taurus LX 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

I have a 2002 Taurus with only 57,000 miles on it when without warning the transmission began making a popping noise and began jerking on acceleration. Took it to a transmission shop and they discovered the transaxle and transmission planetary gears were all shredded and destroyed. Not one single clutch plate was burned however. I plan on selling or trading in this car since I have found the transmission problems on this particular model to be numerous. I'd like to give Ford Motor Company a real piece of my mind. I think I'll buy a Japanese car.
