I have a loud screech from coming from the belt area on the engine. I replaced the drive belt. It did not solve the problem. I replaced the tensioner and idler pullys. It did not solve the problem. It is not the engine, as there is no noise with the belt removed and the engine running ( I only ran it for a few seconds), I do not think it is the air conditioner bearing because the noise does not change with the compressor running or stopped. With the engine off and the belt off, the water pump is not leaking nor does the bearing feel bad, the same with the alternator and the power steering pump. I have an engine stethoscope and it does not find the problem. I am thinking about trying a rubber hose? where do I go from here. Wait for it to break?
