I always wondered whether or not the engine light that never would go off, was actually a malfunction or something serious. Even with the code analysis, nothing would fix it permanently. It went off and came back on later.

Check engine went on, not sure why. The garage checked the car, couldn't figure out the source so they reset it.

I purchased a 2005 Ford Taurus in June of 2005. I have had some problems with this car, put 3 new starters in it 3 or 4 batteries, small fire under the hood one day, check engine light comes on and stays on and just recently the torque converter in the transmission. boy is that going to be expensive to fix. I have had the check engine light to come on for the past 3 years and had it checked the Ford dealer in my town said it showed a misfire and reset the codes. This has not fixed the problem. I am the 4th generation out of 5 generations in my family to drive a Ford this started with my great-grandfather on my father's mother's side of the house. I have a cousin-in-law who is an engineer for Ford Motor Company. I have been driving and owning Ford vehicles since 1982 . If Ford Motor Company can't do any better than make crappy vehicles and they won't stand behind there vehicles no better than what they are doing they are in sad shape, and probably should get out of the auto business or shape up. As the old saying goes shape up or ship out. I have been driving and owning Ford vehicles since I was a teenager but this is my last Ford vehicle, NO MORE. The next vehicle that I get will probably be a Nissan since they hold up for a lot longer than a Ford. It is true FORD stands for Found On Road Dead, or Fix Or Repair Daily.
