Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Vehicle has been to the dealership 5 times for the same hard shifting, transmission problem since new. Problem is better, but I expect failure before warranty expires. The transmission has a hard 1-2 shift since I bought it new on 13 Jan 98. The lemon law caused firm to offer me an extended warranty of 5 years/75,000 miles instead of fixing the problem. I'm very dissatisfied with the transmission, and dealership service shop's performance. Recently, the brakes have developed a vibration and the engine sometimes stalls at slow speeds. I took the van back to the dealership on Monday 5 April 99 for the same transmission problem, and the two new problems. The last several new vehicles I've purchased have been Ford. My next vehicle probably won't be a Ford.

I bought this van in Feb OF98 and had nothing but problems with the front end I had it in the shop twice and the first time it had to have new rotors and brake pads and new tires that I had to pay for.the second time they said nothing was wrong but it ate up two more tires.they said it had to be the tires. I reported this to the department of transportation safety administration and then on Feb 99 the brakes went out again.I also tried to work with college Ford. My husband decided to trade the van in on a Toyota camery because we were not safe in the van and Ford did not want to help us in any way. We paid $25000 for a safe vehicle but got a lemon and no help. $5500 out of my pocket to lease the camery and all the payments for the van just wasted.I just thank god we wern't killed.( dot number: P215 tire size: 70R15 97S )
