The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. According to the previous owner of the vehicle, the dealer stated that a manufacturer recall was completed by a dealer that was no longer in business (jack safro Ford dealer). The previous owner reinforced the bracket, but did not replace the rear brackets. Shortly after driving over railroad tracks, the vehicle suddenly stalled and the rear wheels fractured from the vehicle. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the rear axle cracked from the reinforcement brackets and parts needed to be replaced. The VIN was not included in a recall for the failure. The manufacturer recommended that the vehicle be taken to the dealer (napleton Lincoln blue island, 2950 w 127th St, blue island, il 60406, (708) 385-4500) for diagnostic testing and repair. The failure mileage was not available.

The rear axel broke. Contacted Ford because this was a recall that they just put brackets over parts of the axel. It still broke due to corrosion. When I contacted Ford they said there was nothing they could do because they put brackets on and that fixed it but it still broke right where they said it was going to.

Dear sir/madam I am filing this complaint for a Ford Windstar 2000, the rear axel, which was on recall and Ford had contacted us to have it replaced, however after calling Ford and all the nearest dealers and we actually went to a Ford dealership as well. No dealership was able to provide the recall replacement for the axle or any repairs in that matter. Thanks, Ford owner

The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated the rear driver's side tie rod had broken on the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told the tie rod was rusted through. The contact asked the dealer why the tie rod was not included in NHTSA recall campaign id number: 11V030000 (suspension: Rear axle). The dealer indicated that the manufacturer stated the tie rod would not be replaced even though it rusted through like the rear axle. The failure mileage was 105,000. I don't know how much of a danger this is but I think its is a crime for a car dealership to install a new part on a rusted out old part with out notifying the customer. Have been hearing a noise from the rear of the vehicle for awhile. Had it in to the dealer for two recall repairs. The noise changed yesterday and when the rear was inspected again before leaving for work, I found the drivers side rear coil spring broken. This issued should have been addressed when the rear axle recall work was completed. I drive 50 highway miles each way to and from work and this is dangerous. Missed work today and don't know when this will be able to be fixed. I see Ford has had many problems with other coil springs. Why have they not addressed it with all the other suspension problems on these 2000 Ford Windstar?
