Windstar

  • Automatic transmission

It is the Right power sliding power door. When it is shut using the B Pillar button or the overhead power button the door will close and latch, but will pop out and unlatch. It does not slide open but, the open warning signal in the dash comes on. Someone must get out and pop the door in to latch fully

Windstar SE 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

Along with the other problems that I have been having with my Windstar, with all the commotion while I am driving, this "Christine" will turn the dome lights off and on, lock or unlock the doors, a open door signal in the dash will light up, but no doors are open, and then the power sliding doors will try to open. The car is always in drive when the doors try to open, the will unlock, unlatch, and make a grinding noise as they are trying to be forced open! On the opposite side, they will also not open at all! And I have to manually force the door open and closed. This van drives me nuts!

Windstar SEL

  • 10,000 miles

power rear doors open with keypad or push buttons, but sometimes not by pulling on door handle, particularly disturbing when loaded with packages. Local Ford dealer service department knows of no fix for this problem (apparently not enough people have complained).
