When key was turned in ignition all lights would work, but engine would not turn over. Speedometer would jump to 70 mph, and tachometer would jump to approximately 2000 rpms even though engine was not running. Dealer diagnosed problem to be faulty ignition switch due to low voltage at position ignition one.

Upon attempting to start the vehicle, all the dash board warning lights and turn signal indicators came on and stayed on. All the gauges started acting erratically and all the needle indicators started jumping at random. When I turned off the vehicle and tried to start the vehicle again, the vehicle started without any problems. The very next time I tried to start the vehicle; it did the very same thing as mentioned above (gauges acting erratically, etc.). I attempted to start the vehicle several more time each time with the same result. Finally the vehicle started and no further problems were experienced. I drove the vehicle for approximately 1200 mile over the next few days. Yesterday, I was driving home at a speed of approximately 35 mph when the vehicle suddenly and without warning quit. I coasted to a safe spot on the shoulder of the road. I tried multiple times to restart the vehicle. Each time the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as mentioned above e.g. gauges acting erratically. After about 5 min. The vehicle started normally and I was able to drive home. In my driveway I attempted to start the vehicle several time. Each time the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as mentioned above e.g. gauges acting erratically. Upon consulting with a local mechanic and a local dealer, I was informed the problem was most likely a bad ignition switch. The vehicle is currently having the switch replaced.

The vehicle would not start, due to an open ignition switch. The vehicle continued to have the same issue of an open ignition switch. The consumer requested that the manufacturer replace the vehicle.
