My driver side power window / door regulator assembly cable frayed and the window would not move up or down until repaired. This happened to the driver side door window in August 2014. Now in March 2015, being 7 months later the same issue has happened to the front passenger side door window / door regulator assembly. I use this vehicle for less than 5000 miles a year, I feel this issue needs to be looked in to for the defect of faulty cabling / poor quality. This will be the second time that I will pay out of pocket for the same issue within a year.

While driving a neighborhood street in Maine, I first noticed my front, driver's side power window going up and down on its own. Then, white smoke started pouring from the power window controls. I pulled into a nearby driveway to pull the fuse, but it must have blown on its own because the window controls stopped working. I drove it straight to the dealership where the power window motor replacement was more than $500. Ouch! I'm just glad the entire car didn't burst into flames.
