This power steering variable boost feature came out in '97 and was dropped in 2000. the sensation is one of a normal driving, then all of a sudden the wheel becomes super light, happens frequently when there is some pressure against the wheel, say in a light curve doing around 30 miles an hour or so .. erratic and very scary as you tend to over-steer to compensate at that moment. what can be done be to remedy it?
I've changed the pump and the box, all of the ball joints, the idler arm and Pittman arm shaft. I have the sensor replaced on the steering column. and I've run out of ideas ,, any out there?
