I just want the problem fixed, every time I come to stop I hear a clunking noise and a hard down shift. Soon my vehicle will have some major problems.

Sierra 1500 SLE V6

I purchased my 2014 Sierra new in July 2014. On day one, I complained to my dealer that the vehicle had a serious vibration but was told this would correct itself over time because of the type of tires installed on the vehicle. That was a bald face lie, and now over 101000 miles later the vehicle still has the vibration and the transmission slips when placed in drive.

I took my vehicle to my local dealer to get an estimate on repairs but was told the dealer needed to tear down my truck transmission over a week and they could give me a cause of the issue and an estimate of repair along with the cost of the week long diagnostics. We declined, we are a life long GM family and we have never had any serious issues with our past GM vehicles. We own a 1999 Silverado with well over 350000 miles and it still runs like brand new, these newer models are junk.

Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission

The transmission is very unsure when shifting and the transfer case constantly clunks. The v4 mode is worthless, it doesn't come on unless I am barely on the throttle, OR when I'm towing... It comes on more in towing mode.. what? Why wouldn't it come on all the time and not when towing, you know, when you need the power band.

The transmission doesn't seem to know what gear to be in if you coast at all. Also there is a 2 second hesitation when the accelerator is pressed hard or fast. The dealer did some software adjustments. It helped but did not cure the problem.

Sierra 1500 SLE V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Have been complaining of this and service has brushed off. The transmission is a clunky issue and needs to be resolved. Especially in reverse clunk, clunk. Started first week after purchase and has been ongoing. They haven't fixed it yet.

Update from May 13, 2015: Received call today turned out it was the drive shaft causing vibrations. Willpick up tomorrow they think they have all complaints addressed. We'll see.

Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission

I have been a GM customer all my life and just payed 45,000 dollars on a 2014 Sierra with a transmission problem. It clunks and shifts poorly at low speeds and the V8 to V4 system kicks in to V4 most of the time even as low speeds, seems to be major problem that GM seams to Think That This OK. Here is GM thinking on this matter, document ID 3940199 (some customers may comment on sag or hesitation when accelerating under the following conditions: When coasting at low speeds of less then 15 miles per hour with a closed throttle and then aggressively applying the throttle. Examples of this maneuver include a rolling stop or a lane change maneuver. In this type of maneuver, even though the accelerator is applied aggressively, the throttle blade is opened slowly for up to 0.7 seconds to help minimize drive line lash and clunking. THIS IS JUST SOME OF THE BULL SH*T THE DEALERS ARE STICKING TO. I NEED YOUR HELP, IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING these same problem please call GM complaint # at 1-866-636-2273.
