The first issue is popping coming from the front end of the vehicle causing a steering issue. This has been "repaired" multiple times with no resolution. Every time the popping occurs which is almost every turn the steering wheel will not turn. The next issue is the radio is causing driver distraction by changing stations and screens not just on the display itself but the instrument cluster as well. The radio has been replaced once due to the fact it was on backorder for 6 months another attempt has not been made. The third issue is the brakes have failed at slow speeds no warning lights were on, they just stopped working in the Mcdonald's drive-through. I had to get out of line to keep from rear-ending the person in front of me. Now, after that experience, the ABS light has come on and the service StabiliTrak flashes on the dash as well as parking assist off, everytime I hit the brakes..

I began to hear what sounded like loose rear suspension components about a year into owning the truck. I took it in for service and was advised that per the GM service bulletin, they re-torque the leaf spring bolts. It was fine for a couple of months, then the noise began again. It's now been to the dealer 4 times with 11 days out of service. The response continues to be, they've re-torqued the bolts to GM specs and nothing else they can do. It's very clear by the noise that can be heard, both while moving forward and backing in, something is not within specs. The truck is under warranty and I am a couple of months over on lemon law arbitration. GM is doing nothing to address what could easily be a safety issue and I'm concerned that the bolts continually need to be re-torqued. I've taken to online forum searches to find that this is a common problem with a similar tap dance done by GM. It's shameful that consumers are buying a $40K to $70K truck and having these issues with no solutions being provided through the truck warranty. And when the warranty runs out, how expensive will this be? not to forget, dangerous. I am concerned that one day, the rear-end is going to come out from under my truck and hopefully it's not while on the highway with my daughter in the truck. My truck is used for my daily commute to and from work. It's well maintained, not abused and has under 20K miles. I've turned to BBB for help and was offered 2 years of oil changes by GM. Oil changes don't fix the problem!

The rear leaf springs pop and groan while the vehicle is in motion at low speeds, especially while turning in reverse. GM knows about the problem and every time I go to them they say it's normal.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to squeak and shake. The vehicle was taken to ferguson GMC in norman, Oklahoma twice where routine service was performed. It was diagnosed that dirt and debris between the leaf springs caused squeaking noises. The dealer cleaned and lubricated the leaf spring pads and stated that the noise was not present after the initial repair. Upon taking a test drive, the noise from the leaf springs ensued. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the vehicle operated the way it was designed. In addition, the manufacturer stated that once the vehicle was out of warranty, the failure would be considered a manufacturer's defect for which the contact would be financially responsible. An unknown tsb was issued regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.

My truck suffers from vibration problems, the same thing that 10,837 other posts from other people suffering the same problem are talking about on this forum. www.GM-trucks.com/forums/topic/153186-shake-or-vibration-issues/page-723 this forum has been viewed over 1.5 million times which means a ton of people are having this issue. This is absolutely a risk to motor vechicle safety and absolutely exists in a group of vechicles of the same design or manufacture. The problems this shake presents that pose a danger are vibrations so significant that it can cause driver distraction, fatigue on long trips, potential loss of control, not to mention long term health effects from vibration exposure. The health effects defined are as follows: "the effects of whole body vibration (wbv) have been studied extensively in occupational medicine. In particular, it has been shown that when the body undergoes chronically to whole body vibrations spinal degeneration is likely to be one of the deleterious outcomes. Low back pain has been shown to be the leading major cause of industrial disability in the population under the age of 45 years and has been linked to whole body vibration exposure encountered in some industrial settings. Whole body vibration has been recently purposed as an exercise intervention suggesting its effectiveness in increasing force-generating capacity in lower limbs and low back. It has also been reported to be an effective non-pharmacological intervention for patients with low back pain. Relatively short exposure to whole body vibration has been also shown to increase the serum levels of testosterone and growth hormone. The combined effects on the neuromuscular system and endocrine system seem to suggest its effectiveness as a therapeutic approach for sarcopenia and possibly osteoporosis."

I bought the vehicle new in 9/2015. I reported a vibration between 75-80mph to the nearby GM dealer (twice). The dealer kept the truck for a few days and stated they could not correct the problem. I took the truck back to the original dealer where I bought it, they did a road force balance on the tires and reported the problem fixed. I took the truck back to the original dealer at 13K miles, they kept the truck for a few days and reported the tires needed to be replaced. They replaced the tires and stated the vibration has been resolved. I drove the truck for another 3K miles and noticed that the vibration was starting up again. At 18K miles, I returned the truck to the original dealer and they are going to try and resolve the problem a 5th time.

I am in receipt of the paperwork concerning the above claimed for my vehicle. The paperwork in my possession clearly states that farmers insurance has made me aware that my vehicle 'has been determined to be a total loss'. I am concerned about these findings since it seemed my vehicle only suffered minor damages to the exterior only. Airbags where not deployed nor any windows shattered. I am also in receipt of the paperwork concerning my claim and determining I am 51% at fault towards the accident. I clearly gave my side of the story to the police office that my steering wheel had locked and I was unable to maneuver the vehicle. I was not under the influence of any drugs so I feel mechanical failure should be assessed. Supplemental information was also sent to me where it clearly states recall notices for my vehicle. Recall notice NHTSA campaign id # 14V719000, dated by the manufacturer November 10, 2014 states a recall notice naming the steering as the component needing to be replaced. I never received any information from the manufacturer GMC/Chevrolet concerning this matter. Upon review of this letter, please also take into consideration the recalls that you have provided me and reconsider pursuing of subrogation from a third party, I.e. GMC/Chevrolet manufacturer.
