From the time the truck was new, it has never used less tha 1 qt. of oil per thousand miles. Now it uses about a qt. per 500 miles. It has 33000 miles on it. the truck does not smoke, and it does not leak oil. It also has the " cold start knock". I suspect the knock is really piston slap resulting from poor manufacturing tolerances born from poor engineering. I've been reading on the internet and heard about things like a tube that extends from the underside of the intake manifold that could be sucking oil. if anyone has an answer, I'd be happy to hear it.
