The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon. The vehicle did not pass inspection because the parking brake failed. The vehicle would continue to roll when the parking brake was applied. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer, but no repairs were made. The dealer did not mention what repairs were needed. The current and failure mileages were 87,000.

While driving vehicle suddenly lost acceleration. Check engine light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Consumer was able to pull over by coasting the vehicle to the shoulder. Then vehicle stalled. Consumer tried to restart vehicle but was unable to do so. Then, noticed that the rear passenger wheel smoke was coming from it. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the emergency parking brake needed to be replaced.
