Accord LX 4

Paint is intact, but now fading. Clear coat is peeling in chunks and mostly missing on hood, roof, upper sections of doors, upper parts of front fenders, and A pillars. Car runs great and has been in the family since new, but looks terrible with white flakes and missing sections of clear coat. It has been garaged only its first few years.

Accord LX 2.2L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

The clear coat/paint has slow faded and chipped off my car over the last 4-5 yrs. Now the entire car's exterior has peeled off. I have noticed many other 94-96 Accords that have the similar issue including my neighbors Accord. I want to see if there has been any others with the same problem and see if there is anything we can do about it.

Accord Ex 2.2 Auto 2.2L 4 cyl

you only have to look at all of the 96 accords running around and they all have the paintwork problems but dont hold your breath in expecting any financial relief from Honda or any other car manufacturer on these issues. Its obvious that they did lousy paintwork but the best price I have received to rectify is $2000 and loss of use of 5 days and thats really shopping it around and nickel and dimeing the body shops to death. this car had only 50000 miles on it when paint turned white {it is metallic silver gold color} clearcoat peeled off primer showed through on roof hood and trunk and it looks like an old beater now. As of February 2010 this car still has only 80,000 mls on it and has had a starter, radiator, battery, brakes tyres timing belts times two and a water pump and is driven carefully and with mechanical empathy and never abused.

Accord EX

The Clear Coat is peeling from the hood, trunk, and top of car front. I've seen several models that have done the same thing. Honda doesn't want to take care of this because they know that it would be a large recall that they would have to pay for.
