Accord Hybrid V6 Hybrid
This problem is caused by a poor design of the rear fender vents on the model. The vents can and were entered by the Mouse family from the outside of the car and took up residence in the trunk tool compartment. The family consisted of mamma and two nursing babies,( one baby jumped out of the trunk, two days later mamma was trapped and the surviving baby mouse made a get-a-way under the rear seat. Since on the V6 Hybrid model the battery pack in behind the rear seat back and warning signs warning that I would be killed if I violated the batteries space, I sought help with the local body shop. Two hours and $62.00 later we accepted defeat and I pled my case with Honda, but was told by a customer Rep, that it wasn't the cars fault and nothing could or would be done about it. The vents are removable plastic grids housing a foam filter. The grid openings are large enough to allow a very pregnant mouse to enter the trunk. This all happened on the 3rd of Sep. 2008 and the very dead baby mouse is still rotting away somewhere in the duct system. I only drive the car when weather permits all four windows lowered and driving speeds over 60MPH. A smaller filter grid would have prevented this problem. Since Honda cars are problem proof, "stonewalling" seems to be their solution to the problem. In the future they can refer to me as a prior customer.
