Accord Sports Sedan V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 38,000 miles

I bought my 2006 Honda Accord V6 manual transmission Sports Sedan brand new in 2005. I drove it about a mile off the lot and that was as far as it got. I had to have it towed back to the dealer (they said they would not tow it) who tried to tell me I must be too hard on a clutch. I told him I had driven manual transmission cars for over 25 years, including my last car which had over 105,000 miles. They agreed to put a new transmission/and or clutch in.

Now it is 38,000 miles later, and a local repair shop I have often used reliably for other cars, tells me I need a new clutch. IS THIS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF HONDA ACCORD CLUTCHES, THAT THEY GO FASTER THAN BRAKE PADS? IF SO, PERHAPS THEY SHOULD ADD "REPLACEMENT OF A CLUTCH TO THEIR 36,000 MILE MAINTENANCE STANDARD SERVICE SCHEDULE". OF COURSE, BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, A NEW CLUTCH MIGHT ALSO BE A rECOMMENDED SERVICE ITEM BETWEEN JUST AFTER ONE MILE.

WAY TO GO HONDA, NICE INITIALLY DELIVERED CAR THAT RAN JUST ONE MILE. BEFORE NEEDING MAJOR REPAIR. EXCELLENT COORDINATION IN ATTITUDE TO WORKMANSHIP IN BLAMING THE NEW OWNER HAVING JUST HAD HIS CAR TOWED IN AT HIS EXPENSE BECAUSE YOU SAID TOWING WASN'T COVERED AND THEN TRIED TO PREVAIL IN AN ARGUMENT THAT IT WASN'T A HONDA QUALITY PROBLEM, IT WAS THE NEW CAR OWNER'S FAULT FOR RENDERING THE TRANSMISSION INOPERATIVE IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTE OFF THE LOT.
NICE NEW CLUTCH WITH A SERVICE LIFE OF 38000 MILES. DO YOU HAVE FIVE YEAR AUTOMOBILE MARKETING PLAN EXIT STRATEGY OR DID I JUST GET UNLUCKY TWICE IN SO SHORT A TIME.

Accord 3.2L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 24,000 miles

Technician calls it abuse, but I say the clutch needs to be built stronger so it doesn't slip and burn up. I'm now out $1,671.72 after just 24,000 miles and this could happen again. Never buy another Honda car.

Accord Leather 3.2L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 24,000 miles

I've got a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe with 24,000 miles and my clutch burned up due to to slipping and what I believe to be a defective part. The dealer said it was abused so they wouldn't have to cover it under warranty. I was just wondering who else had the same problem and if it was covered under warranty. Never would I buy another Honda.

Accord SE 2.4L L

  • Manual transmission
  • 19,884 miles

I have a 2006 Accord 4 cyl with 32 K km with manual transmission mostly highway driven and today I noticed my clutch is slipping.
This can not be worn plates since it's only 32 K km conservatively driven and not abused, I suspect leaking seals and oil contaminating the clutch plates

clutch slipping after 32500 km, service manager refusing warranty coverage implying driver abuse, driver has 32 years and ~600,000 km trouble free driving experience with Accords, still owns another 91 Accord with original clutch.
