CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Honda Accord has a solid reputation (so far), with one very significant flaw: uncomfortable seats.

Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight.

The common theme we hear is "never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

paint peeling off paint peeling off paint peeling off

I have 2011 Exl v6 Accord with 40,000 miles. The vehicle is well maintained but recently I notice on the driver’s side over the door to the rear fender, the paint was oxidizing. I brought the car to three collision/detailers repair shops who said the clear glaze wore off and the car needed to be repainted. At that point I started researching the internet and saw all if these law suits and class actions for people with the same problem. Honda extended the warranty for certain models and years. Not mine.

According to the complaints, this was due to a manufacturers defect by using a cheaper undercoat clear glaze. It is unscrupulous business practices for Honda not to stand by their product and accept responsibility for the defective paint, since admittedly they are repairing certain models and years. If Honda did not use a cheaper product , there would be no need to have the car re-painted to begin with. I contacted the dealership on 9/29/21 via email, and did not receive a response, I called their customer service and spoke to Gloria on 9/29/21 and was given case a case # 12545665.

Gloria said there were no recalls for my year and model so there was nothing that could be done. I filed a complaint, with the Better Business Bureau on 9/29/21. I went on to the FCC on 9/29/21 and explained my situation. I was told if no action was received to contact the Attorney General. I was contacted in February 2022 by Tatiana from Acura. Unfortunately I had just gotten out of the hospital where I had vocal cord surgery and was not able to speak. My friend was going to call and speak on my behalf but I was left a General telephone number Not Tatiana's direct number. I have no resolution to this problem.

I purchased this car March 6, 2015 with 35,000 miles on it. September 2017 I noticed a patch of paint missing on the roof of the car. Then I noticed the paint on the hood was getting dull and spotted and the trunk has dull spots as well. I owned a Mazda 6 for 10 years and never had any problems with paint peeling or fading. This needs to be addressed I have seen 4 cars the same year and body style as my Honda that has paint missing or peeling off.

Paint on the front and rear bumpers started peeling off in big pieces. Honda rep said Honda would paint bumpers as a "courtesy" because there was no evidence of a cause. Body shop said the problem was a previous repair that did not use the proper primer so paint did not adhere. Probably from damage during transport to the dealer. Honda says they manufacture the cars but have no responsibility once sold to a dealer. Seems to me that previous repairs should be divulged to a person buying a new car. This is more of an issue of ethics and integrity. I am saddened that Honda does not feel this way.
