CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2014 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

This 2014 Honda Accord is my husband's car which I usually take to go grocery shopping. If I park in my driveway which has a slight incline, the trunk door does not stay open. Today it closed on my head very hard. I have a significant bump on my head and a headache as a result. I see that this is happening to other people and I hope that Honda will step up to rectify this problem. I have owned several cars, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord from previous years, and this has never been a problem.

I came home from grocery shopping and opened the trunk lid to start taking bags out. Our driveway is on a slight incline. The lid closed on my head very hard. I was shocked, upset and hurt. I hope Honda will step up and attempt to fix this problem. This should not be happening, no matter where you park your car.

trunk lid does not stay up on smallest incline

Our 2nd Accord. Previous 2003 did not have this problem. Trunk spring needs more tension or a locking device to prevent head trauma. Honda, like the NFL, needs to be aware of the likelihood of head injuries...............

When you pop the truck and lift the lid, it will just barley stay up. The spring seems to be really weak. If you park on an incline it will not stay up.

This is my first brand new Honda (after an used Civic one since college). I love Honda but this one is a little disappointed. I always park my car in my driveway which is not completely flat but it's the slightest hill you could ever think of, but the trunk never stay opened. This is the same driveway I parked my old civic but never had this problem before. It fell and hurted my head once. That was when I started to notice this problem.

Took it to a local dealer (where I bought the car), they cheked everything but gave up. Tried to call Honda but waited too long so I gave up. Hopefully if more people complains about this problem, they will fix it.

Trunk lid does not stay up when facing uphill where I frequently park. Obviously, this is quite a nuisance when loading or unloading the trunk. I have to hold up the lid with one hand while loading/unloading with the other, or another person holds the lid or loads/unloads. The slight injury occurred when the lid fell on my head before I was aware of the problem. This is my fourth Honda, third Accord, and the first one with the problem. Previous years' models did not have this problem so they must have been well-tested. Apparently the 2014 model was not.

On the slightest hill when parked the trunk will not stay up, keeps hitting my head while I try to put groceries in the trunk .. This is very hard for me but for my wife it's too much . Please fix this issue , I've been a Honda faithful customer for years ..this is just something I don't expect from Honda.
