I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the SRS system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the SRS wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.
I have a 2017 Honda accord, just a little over 5 years old and 73K miles. It has never been in a car accident and I bought it new from the dealer. Last month I started to have lights that showed my lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, and road departure mitigation system were not functioning. I took my car to the dealer and was initially told that it was an SRS unit failure. Later, they changed and said the SRS unit is fine but the camera is damaged. Honda is considering this normal wear/tear and will not cover this repair even though the car has never been in an accident. The car will not pass inspection unless this is fixed. The airbags will not deploy until this is fixed and the car is therefore dangerous to drive. The camera is on back order and it will be at least a month before it can be repaired.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the contact became aware of a spare tire in the middle of the roadway. While attempting to avoid driving over the tire, the contact swerved and was struck by the vehicle on the driver-€™s side of the vehicle. The driver-€™s side seat air bag failed to deploy properly. The contact stated that there were holes in the air bag. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and call 911. The contact was later told that no emergency service was available. The contact was informed to drive to the residence. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact did see a doctor for pain in their upper left arm and left hip, and side. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

My airbags didn't deploy at the time of frontal accident at approximately 30-40 mph. Accident happened on county street (glen mill rd montgomery county Maryland) January 25th at 6:30 am. With the road being very dark, I didn't see a full size tree across the roadway from a severe storm the night before. I anticipated the airbag deploying on impact, however it seem like a minute or two before they deployed but never inflated ( niether the front or passanger side curtin) photos are on my phone and will send when I can download on this site.
I was driving southbound on md 301 highway in the far right lane (4th lane) going 45mph. The other vehicle was headed northbound on md 301 and made a left turn onto the sb lanes crossing all lanes. The collision occurred when the driver attempted to cross the 4th sb lane (my lane). I hit the car without breaking as I was traveling 45mph. This was a head on collision with extensive front end damage. My airbags did not deploy. There other vehicle had airbag deployment.

The steering wheel air bag deployed and smoke entered the contact's vehicle. The contact lost consciousness and awoke to find that the seat belt did not properly restrain her, which resulted in injuries to the neck, head, and shoulders. Medical attention was received. The vehicle was towed. A police report was filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. While driving 45 mph, the brake pedal was applied; however, due to a delay in the contact's reaction time, she crashed into the preceding vehicle. The air bag indicator illuminated and the air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained chest bruises, which did not require medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The contact called galpin Honda at (818) 837-6100 (located at 11151 laurel canyon blvd, san fernando, ca 91340), but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
Then manual states the air bag will go off at under 65 lbs. My 85 lb. Grandson, weighed January 9, 2018, makes the air bag go off when he sits in the front passenger seat. The car is not running but stationery. The light off stays lite the whole time he is in the seat. I have gone on the internet and see that others have had the same experience. My dealer just tells me that the grandson should sit in the back seat. Can this be fixed to activate the air bag for the over 65 lb. Limit?
Takata recall my passenger airbag console warning light keeps coming on. It stays on sometimes and goes off sometimes. I have taken it back to my dealer several times with no resolution. They tell me the light wasn't on when they checked it out and to bring it back. I told them to check it out at my last oil change, they said to bring it back when they have more time to check it out. I made an appointment to take it back when it came back on, but it went back off again! so basically they can't diagnose the problem when the light isn't on! but when I'm on the way to dealer it is on. This leads me to believe there is a safety problem with the passenger side airbag. This has been goin on for about 2-3 months now. I leased the vehicle March 2017
Takata recall I recently had a car accident on 11/29/17 where the air bags deployed and I cut my face and had 6 stitches and my mother broke her arm and has a cast and might need surgery. I just leased the car 2 months ago.
While driving on I26 East outside of spartanburg SC at 75 miles an hour, I hit a deer on the drivers side, the passenger side air bag deployed, the drivers airbag did not. The spartanburg hwy patrol wrote a incident report on 12/10/2016 around 8pm. I have pictures of incident at the scene.
I bought 2017 Honda Accord and within a day there were 2 air bag signs came up. Called dealership and they said whenever you come this side bring the car. They checked the car that weekend and found a faulty SRS module. They replaced it, but how a new car have a faulty SRS module" how quality control dept. Stamped it without checking it? what if something would have happened to me"
