Dear Honda, I had purchased my Honda - CR-V car, 2015 model, during late 2014 year, in brand new conditioın from the local Honda Agent, Honda Plaza / Ozerler, Mugla, Turkey. On date March, 11, 2016 my vehicle (Liscence Plate, Engine serial and chassis number information are to be supplied upon request) was taken to the same local agent from which our original purchase was made, for regular periodical maintenance, while it had been driven a total distance of about 113,000km. As we were asked by Honda service personnel during our delivery of our vehicle for regular servicing, whether we had any specific complaints, we have mentioned that the performance of the vehicle was normal, except for the occasional indicator light for the VSA (Vehicle Stability Control System) on the control panel going "on", from time to time, which apparently needed checking by the authorized Honda service. There had been no other noticable abnormality in the condtion/ operation performance of the car or its engine. While we were waiting in Honda PLaza to collect our vehicle, we were reported by the authorized service personnel that the car engine oil need to be topped up and the VTEC system needed to be re-tuned, as the extras to required maintenance work, for which we gave our consent. As we were waiting for the delivery of our vehicle, authorized personnel have informed us that we could collect the car while it was still in the service bay and as the engine of the car having been turned on by the service person, my wife, immediately being alarmed, have instantly told the service people that there seemed to be a loud and abnormal noise of the running the engine. She indicated that there had been no abnormality in the condition/engine running performance of the car, before our delivery to the authorized service, almost an hour ago and she have refused to collect the car in such condition, which seemed to have some malfunction. Upon her request, the authorized service personnel, by re-examining the vehicle engine have advised my wife that the engine block needed to be opened in order to diagnose the problem. Upon opening up the engine cover, the service personnel have advised us that the engine cylinders had been blocked due to knocked engine bearings and sleeves, requiring a major engine ovehaul. Consequently, we were advised by the authorized Honda service, while our vehicle had not been moved from their service bay, that the estimated cost of neceassary repairs would be in the range of 22,000 TRL (Equivalent of about 7,500 USD), which we were asked to be bear ! We had delivered our vehicle, which had no problems, for regular periodical maintenance to the Local Authorized Honda Service. The vehicle was pronounced by the authorized service to need engine oil topping and VTEC tuning to be made only, while later, at the time it was declared ready for our collection, a major malfunction, reportedly requiring a major cost impact on us , occured, while the vehicle was still at the custody of/ in the service bay of the authorized Honda Service, without having had any intervention by ourselves. We believe, there must have been a gross maintenance error/technical negligence caused by authorized Honda service people, during the changing of engine oil or the tune up operation of the VSA or VTEC system of the car, thereby resulting a major cost impact. We kow Honda vehicles have the proper and reliable diagnostic indicators, which would give proper pre-warning indications to the driver/operator of the vehicle. In the case of our incident there has been no abnormal indication, except the occasional VSA system indicator signal. We believe, as we reserve our full legal rights, authorized Honda Service (Honda Plaza / Ozerler, Mugla, Turkey) as well as the Honda-Turkey Organization, who have authorized them as their authorized service, are expressly and fully responsible and liable for the damages we are experiencing for this reported incident. We are asking full material damages be compensated that we have / experienced or to experince in the future, in reference to above mentioned case, be undertaken by Honda without any cost impact to ourselves. As of now, our subject vehicle is still being kept in the custody of Honda Plaza / Ozerler, Mugla, Turkey, your authorized service bay. We kindly ask the due remedial action be given by Honda Automobiles, as soon as possible. Being a Honda customer, we have full faith in the worldwide Customer Fullfillment Policy of Honda Motor Vehicles, we shall appreciate your kind attention at the soonest. Thanking again in anticipation, Best Regards, BEHCET DUZGUN
