I have owned 4 Honda cars since 1985 - put on approximately 500,000 (250,000 on 1995 Accord) and never have I had to have anything done to transmission. The CR-V has 70,000 and dealership said transmission is leaking and needs to be replaced. I was the only driver on all 4 Hondas.

Honda is traditionally known for its reliability. I bought my car as my forever car as I am entering retirement. I have had 4 Honda's over the last 25 years. Have Never Had a Problem. Very disappointed and pissed off that no one at Honda has returned my calls about this. I hope that others see this complaint and be forewarned. I was first told of this problem during a routine oil change and thought NO WAY someone is trying to take me for money because I am female. I am devastated.

CR-V ES 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

There is no way that a Honda CRV should have transmission problems with only 39,000 miles. This is not the honda dependability that has caused me to now buy my 3rd CRV. The first person who told me I had a problem I thought was trying to fleece me. I had a second opinion and discovered that I had the right and left seal was leaking. NOT HAPPY.

CR-V EX-L 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,606 miles

I have owned my Honda CRV for about 3 months, at 2 months I was in the shop with a transmission leak. The service advisor phoned me that the mechanic could not duplicate the problem after cleaning off the transmission, and driving for 15 miles and I was told to pick up the car, their explanation this time for the leak was

" the fluid must have spilled when put in at delivery from the manufacturer". I left, and a week later leak is back, same place at the top of transmission , took it back to Cary Paul Honda in Snellville Ga,

this time I am told " not sure of diagnosis" where leak is coming from is not apparent, but get this, they have ordered a NEW TRANSMISSION to be put into my NEW car, it has about 1800 miles on it to date! I have asked about any recalls, none they tell me, but after looking online I see some problems with porous transmission cases, I mentioned this , "oh possibly" is the response I receive. I phoned my service advisor this morning and asked him to be sure a diagnosis is on my receipt for replacing the transmission, he told me that he can't guarantee that! I will keep you posted as I proceed, I intend to have a reason in writing WHY my transmission had to be replaced at 1800 miles.
