CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014 Honda CR-V has a trend of engine hesitation when accelerating.

Honda has tried to fix this delayed acceleration with a software update, but many owners report it didn't fix the problem.

This defect trend is not quite bad enough yet for us to slap on the "Beware of the Clunker" seal. But it's a concern & definitely something to keep in mind for a test drive.

I bought the 2014 model because I needed an AWD in central NY snow. I like to wait a year to post reviews because I want to really get to know my car.

After starting the car, it takes several screens of warnings before I get to my GPS and punch in my destination. Why? First a screen about the satellite for 60 seconds. What is stupid warnings like "Driver is responsible for operation of vehicle" warning? Really? The DMV thinks so. When will you Honda? Duh! Why don't you have me sign a release when I buy the car so I don't have to look at this every single time I start my car. Takes 30 seconds AFTER you hit OK for the next screen. Then comes a screen saying your phone is connected for another 30 seconds.

GPS navigation is not intuitive like other cars. Needs too many clicks to get your destination or to find your address book. Screen is invisible when sun shines on it. Need anti glare screen. It takes several screens of warnings before I get to my GPS and punch in my destination. Why? So annoying when I'm in a hurry.

navigation system fails to find the best routes

From the very first day the GPS was really bad - took me down wrong streets etc. I've had several TomToms so i know what a GPS should do and this is really bad. The photo attached shows the GPS telling me to take a u turn on an expressway !! I've spoke to Honda several times and all they say that i can PURCHASE an upgrade. That, to me, is an insult. The upgrade should be free at the very least.

Apart from the GPS being faulty, it's really basic - nothing on the screen showing your speed or the speed limits in the area. No warning of speed cameras. Also the time of arrival estimation is usually 30% wrong.

I'm very disappointed by Honda. This is their reply: "As per our conversation, we wish to advise that Honda Australia does not produce or manage the mapping information used in the satellite navigation fitted to your vehicle, however at the time of purchase it was supplied with the most up to date software as released by Sensis.

Sensis "Where Is" are the major supplier of mapping software and are responsible for ensuring that it is as current as possible, however as we are sure you will appreciate from time to time things can be missed, accordingly they ask that any oversights are reported via their web site to ensure they are captured on the next published version.

Here is the link to their website: https://www.whereismaps.com/map-corrections.html

With regard to SatNav features such as red light, speed camera and school zone alerts, we concede that these features are available in a number of the aftermarket products. However we think you will find these types of features are not included in a number of the integrated manufacturer systems which we prefer to benchmark ourselves against.

You will find the non-inclusion of these features is because decisions on the format of SatNav systems are made at a global level, and for a number of reasons most vehicle manufacturers elect not to include information which is constantly variable and changing, particularly where safety is involved.

Honda's satellite navigation discs are updated on a regular basis every 12 to 18 months, and made available to Honda owners through our authorized Honda dealer network.

You can contact your nearest Honda dealer to confirm availability of an update for your SatNav."

Trying to return home to Maryland from Northwest Washington near the zoo. It's a straight shot up Connecticut Avenue to the beltway. GPS took me way downtown then east to the BWI parkway.

On an earlier trip to New Jersey it kept trying to take me off I 95 and through downtown Baltimore. On the way home, driving south on I295 in Jersey it wanted me to turn around and go North. When asked to find a Starbucks it tried to direct me to one 400 miles away (no exaggeration). Had it in to the dealer once and its going back again this week.

This is on top of a dead battery and malfunctioning tire pressure sensor- all in the 4 months of ownership.

This car is a piece of trash!
