At 41000 miles my rear brakes started to grind. When I talked to Honda was told not under warranty. Never had to replace rear brakes in my life on any previous car and drove them much longer. The front has about 70 to 75 % per cent left. I am told at minimum I need rotors and pads but might need caliper.

I buy a Honda CRV 2015 EX. After few weeks later all the problems came out.. first the horrific vibration that until now is worse, also a loud noise from the brakes when I reverse, and a noise that came from the engine ..but the question is what else has to happen with this vehicle ...what will be the solution ????

Bought new, always garaged and average use. Took it to dealer and was told rear brakes needed new pads and rotors turned for $200. I've never heard of such a thing, rear brakes, kidding me right? Investigated a little bit and found this is a common problem, especially where I live.

Funny, have had other Hondas, Toyotas, a Saab or two and many cars with rear discs. Never a problem. Dealer said it was a rust issue and not covered under warranty. My reply? "Honda should not sell cars in Vermont then". Buddy of mine said he repaired a customer's CRV 3 times in 3 years, same issue. Service manager called me about the problem and after awhile admitted it was a common problem and Honda won't stand behind it. "Defective parts?" I asked. We both knew the answer to that.

Anyway that was last year and had the car serviced yesterday. Same problem, same cure, still under warranty, same cost to me. Called Honda corporate and will advise as the saga progresses. Wife's car and she is talking of trading it, quite unhappy. Other issues as well but won't go there. Will keep my other Honda though, 02' S2K, made when quality really reigned.

The rear brakes are grinding as soon as the car is out of park. This problem has to be either a design or manufacturing defect in the Honda brakes for the 2015 CR-V.

I started hearing this grinding noise from the first day after I bought it new. It happens after I brake and lift my foot off the brake to start moving! If I lift my foot slowly, I can hear the unpleasant grinding noise. It happens even if I lift my foot fast.

I went to the dealership, and they told me it is because the brake pad are cold!!! They said if you drive the car for a while in highway at high speed, then you will not hear this noise. So, this means that I have to drive the car to highway every f*cking time that I wanna use the car, and then the brake noise will go away! This was a stupid thing to say. I told them that this is not a solution. In fact I tested it, and even after driving at high speeds, I could still hear the noise. So I gave up. Then again, in the first service time, I asked them to fix it. They said the brake pads need cleaning and service. They charged me about 100 dollars for that. After the service the noise was still there. Now, after 2 years of purchasing this car, I still hear the noise and Honda cannot do anything, or (they don't wanna do anything) to fix it.

Along with the vibration - our car has a grinding noise when braking and back-up braking. It sounds like our brakes are about to fail. We took the car into the dealership a couple of times - no fix. I went to drop it off one other time for the grinding noise and the service manager and one of the mechanics had me get into one of the new Honda CRVs which basically did the same thing, said it was just the way the vehicles are. That's crap to say you are making cars with a sound that it may not stop. Along with our complaint on vibration, we filed this complaint with Honda and same - thing, tough luck we are not going to do anything.
