I eventually get heat and the temperature gauge is registering correctly. However, it takes a long time to get there. By the time I was able to have it checked my warranty had expired. It seemed to me that the thermostat wasn't opening all the way. I went to a good local mechanic that I trust. I didn't tell him what I thought the problem was wrong. I explained what I thought the problem was and he said "the thermostat probably needs replacing". Wouldn't you know the thermostat is a dealer item. No after market. He replaced it for me and the problem still exists. I noticed today that while idling the gauge dropped right to below the "C" and disappeared and I had very little heat.

I have driven many Honda cars since 1991 and never driven a crv with so little heat.At idle you can't get enough heat to defrost the entire windshield. I was on a highway where a tractor trailer had crashed, so I had to idle on the highway for 3 hours and had to keep my my seat heater on and increase the idle to be comfortable. This is not acceptable. If you can't keep the windshield defrosted you have a safety issue.Honda has to come up with a solution. There is no point in using the remote start or plugging in your CRV because it doesn't warm up. I even tried leaving the fob inside the vehicle and letting it idle. Earth dream or is it a freezing nightmare. Maybe this Honda should only be driven in a warm climate, I guess that excludes Canada. I have owned six Honda products and this is the first time that I have complained to Honda Canada. I really like the Honda CRV but don't buy one if you are in a cold climate. This vehicle is driven in northern Ontario.

New 2019 Honda CR-V turbo takes a long time to heat up / temp gauge takes long time to move. When it heats up if you are in traffic it falls back down. Burne Honda in Scranton, PA said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, he said all 2019 Honda crv does this
