This problem has happened a few times over the life of the car. I bought it new. When I turn the key the car starts roughly and then dies. Sometimes if I wait a few minutes it will restart. As of late, I have discovered that the real problem seems to be that the fuel pump is not getting any power. My husband took the back seat out to reveal the connection wires to the pump, tested them, and found this to be true. There seems to be no "trick" to getting the current flowing again, just luck.
Honda dealer back in 1993 could not find any problems. Haven't taken it back in for another diagnosis.
