Civic EX 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 171,650 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

My mother had purchased this car for me, in good faith, used from Curry Honda in Atlanta,GA last June, and I have had nothing but problems with it. First off, the mechanical paperwork that was "provided" was NOT for my car at all, but for an '09 Accord. Two months later, I had to replace the battery. A month after that, I had to replace the radiator (had a 2" crack on the top, and just a few days ago, my transmission has been acting up. (has about 171,500 miles on it) I noticed my RPMs increasing from the average of about 2.5 to a high 3k at highway speeds, and it was having difficulty shifting to/from 3-4th gear. I drained and refilled the fluid myself with the recommended Honda crap, and now I am seeing the same problems in all gears, except reverse. I am BEYOND livid with this, and I have no way of being able to buy a new transmission for a car that was bought on good faith that was fully checked out by their mechanics prior to being bought.

Civic EX 1.6L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

The automatic transmission, ah! It's not perfect in any means, but it shouldn't make the whole car jump from shift shock. The worst of the shift shock is when turning or slowing down on a hill the car will jump like someone slapped it in the rear end. Another shift shock moment in when it shifts to OD. I've also had this gear just completely miss like it had no 4th gear. This happens when it's cold mostly, when I jump in and start down the highway. It's not good on the transmission and engine to drive on the highway without OD.

Civic LX 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

Yes Honda is suppose to be tops!!! Well here I am at 59,000 miles. Should I put in another transmission or just move forward? I could be to blame as I know I change the oil routinely but transmission fluid, I think I did once. Disappointed to say the least costly says it all............. Do I replace or purchase new car.

Plus wipers went, would not turn off, $200

Engine sensor is on too, AGAIN. Had it replaced in May 2009. It came on again, first week of July.

Put two mufflers in too, mufflers ummm stink on these foreign cars. Same happened with my Mitsubishi mirage, put 3 on that car...........

Otherwise the Honda Civic LX lived up to my expectation------very dependable.

Still deciding which way to go!

Update from Aug 22, 2009: I would like my complaint removed or listed under an anonymous name, anonymous city and state---please I do not want others to contact me as it is too risky. Thank you very much for attending to this matter.

Plus thank you for helping consumers, we need it.

Civic

  • Manual transmission
  • 94,000 miles

This car should have more than 94,000 miles in it. It has left me stranded, would not start only to go back later and restart and it run. I am at my wits end trying to have this problem resolved. I need help. No one has been able to fix the vehicle.
