CarComplaints.com Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.
Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

I took my car to the shop for a new timing belt, after they had it in the shop they phoned me. They said the valves are tight and need loosening and the valve seals need to be replaced. They tightened the values but no seals in stock. They said they would be finished in 3 hrs but it took six. I was upset because I only budgeted for the belt then they kept adding more things on. They showed me the valves and there were indents in the rubber which they said needed to be replaced before the oil leaks and ruins the spark plug wires. Does that seem right to you.
