Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: Yes, the Honda Civic receives a lot of complaints because so many were sold. And sure, car parts only last so long and things eventually break. But it's never good to see this many transmission complaints, especially when the average mileage at failure is just north of 100,000 miles.

Especially when you consider that it's predecessor also has a nasty history with transmission complaints.

Engine light came on for the 3rd time, got it checked, linked to transmission! It has been erased from the computer and I will await to see when it comes on again!

What's the deal with my Honda Civic? No problems ever except this summer on one of the hottest days of the year I was accelerating from a red light that just turned green and the car choked up a bit... almost like it was "put put" and then like it was going to stall so I eased up on the gas and accelerated a little more slowly. A couple weeks later the transmission light came on when I was going down a hill and had the car in 2nd gear. The light stayed on and the car choked up again a bit like the first time... the transmission light stayed on for a long time until we were able to take to the mechanic who replaced all the spark plugs and some wiring... he used some kind of diagnostic machine that he plugged into the cigarette lighter to see what was wrong with it. we paid almost 300 bucks out of pocket the car was fine but the next day the transmission light came on again! we waited a couple days and it went out again... then it came on a gain for a few days.. now its off again... whats the deal??
