Civic 5 Door Hatchback 2.0L S Type

  • Manual transmission
  • 36,000 miles

Car had slight bump to rear when stationary ($400 to paint etc).
Stability and brake control effected. Still drivable. VSA and warning light appears now on dash. Checked by Honda they found that yaw sensor and main bundle assembly effected.
Neither Honda or Insurance will take responsibility to pay for the $1500 repair. Both have washed their hands about it. Honda - reliable - only 36000 on clock??? Honda stated that the fault should have shown up within the warranty period if faulty. Insurance co. just sat crash couldn't have caused fault. Very frustrating and costly.

Update from Jul 4, 2009: The warranty on the Honda Civic S type is 3 yrs or 75000 miles (The electronic unit didn't last half of the warrantee milage unfortunately it showed up just after the 3 yr period). The 75K milage is not worth the paper it's written for a 'normal' milage driver. This will be my last Honda.
