I was driving my 2007 Honda Civic si coupe at approximately 10-20mph. Without warning my passenger side airbags deployed (2 airbags in total). The airbag deployment was loud, shocked me, and filled my car with smoke. I initially thought I was hit; however no cars were on my passenger side or able to hit me. I pulled over and there was no damage to my car (other than the inside where the airbags now deployed). My airbag light was not on prior to deployment. There was no sort of impact and absolutely no indication/reason the airbags should have deployed. If someone was sitting on my passenger side, they could have been seriously injured. If the driver airbags deployed, I could have been seriously injured and/or possibly caused an accident. This is a dangerous and very concerning malfunction that could have resulted in a lot worse.

The VIN number on my daughter's 2007 Civic coupe does not bring up a recall to replace the airbag. Why" does this mean that there is no danger of metal shards exploding out of the airbag? I called american Honda's consumer information dept. They checked my VIN and said that there was no airbag recall. I asked why there was no recall and was told that Honda does not always put the same brand of airbag in all of their vehicles. Is this true"

4/10/14 picked up my car from a body shop referred by victory Honda drove a couple of blocks turned left 3 to 4 seconds after the turn my drivers side airbag and the airbag in the side of my seat deployed at the same time without collision at the same time. Causing a continual ringing in my ear. Took car back to body shop they took my car back to victory Honda and told them I hit a curb. Victory Honda, Honda of America, and the insurance company for the body shop are all sticking to that story. I did not hit anything and now I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle as the seat belts and the remaining airbags are all disconnected. Thank you for your time. My email address is [xxx]. my phone number is[xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I took my 2007 Honda Civic to the dealership to inquire about my SRS light, I was told that the cause was dtc 32-10, intermittent connection in floor harness. And that this was not covered by warranty. I have researched online and seen others with the same issue. It seems there is design flaw in the SRS system. I have also found a service bulletin number: Sb-10-001 this seems like safety issue that should be covered by an extended warranty. Thank you for your time.

I am having a serious issue with water leaking in through my side curtain driver side air bag when it rains. I spoke to two different dealerships and they want to take apart my whole car and both also said completely different things. It apparently is not covered under my warrant because it is a water leak but that is unfair. It is most likely destroying my air bag and that is a safety concern. Honda corporate told me they have never heard of such an issue and that their hands are tied.

I was advised by Honda North in clovis, ca, to replace the opds sensor and the opds control unit which should have removed the air bag warning light. It did not! I spent $697.87 for this repair at visalia Honda only to be told they could not reset the air bags. I was then told the SRS control unit needed to be replaced in order to reset the air bags. The quoted cost to replace the SRS control unit was $450. Also, I was told by visalia Honda's service manager, [xxx], that they had no way of determining why the warning light was coming so repairs were being made in some kind of pecking order. The SRS control unit was replaced with american Honda providing the part while I paid $221.54 for the labor. The warning light came on again in August 2014 at which time I was told by visalia Honda that the cable reel had intermittent failure and needed to be replaced at a cost of $413. The cable reel has not been replaced. I have noticed many others having the same safety issues with their 2007 Civic but yet american Honda refuses to recall the vehicles. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
