The Honda "Maintenance Minder" cannot be relied on to let you know that oil level is low. At 30% of useful life during my break-in period and with 4500 miles, my dip stick showed the crankcase was short 1 quart. If I had not check it myself, only relied on waiting for a computer alert, I could have had engine damage. Not a particularly great improvement in technology if you risk a seized engine.
