Randomly, the radio screen will freeze after hanging up on a phone call that was received. It still does this even after an update performed by Honda to fix this issue.

display screen stopped working

Nothing but problems with the screen since day 1. Apple Car Play constantly cancels and goes back to the home screen. Having the entire screen replaced by the dealer. Software runs on a very old version of Android.

I purchased my 2016 Honda Civic Touring in July 2016 with less than 4,000 miles on it. Almost immediately it began having issues with the radio and touch screen and the now the brake sensor is apparently acting up and don’t get me started on the windshield wipers. Most of the time the radio does not work at all and when you start the car it makes loud popping noises like the speakers are blown. Sometimes if you reboot the system, turn the car off and wait like 5 minutes then restart the car it works, most times though, it does not. If it does work, then a majority of the time, at least daily at some point it starts making really loud beeping noises that you cannot turn off. When this happens the display screen totally loses functionality and you can do nothing. I’ve also noticed lately the steering wheel controls stop working when this happens. When it starts beeping loudly and continuously then the screen goes crazy and the side camera nor the backup work and the car starts flashing that I need to brake even when there are no cars in front of me. And lastly, wtf is up with the windshield wipers. If you turn on the intermittent option, they go ape sh*t crazy and start going so fast you would think they will fly off the car. There is no slow option, it’s a steady fast, we are driving through a hurricane option. I hate this car and anyone considering buying one should think twice. I’ve reached out to Honda at least 25 times and they are no help. They logged a complaint and tell me I need to take it to a dealer for verification of the issue but conveniently the dealer doesn’t address these type of issues on the weekend so I have to miss work. I’m so annoyed with this car!!!!!!!

Touch Screen Display INOP and is Blinking / Flashing at you.

Dealer applied Service Bulletin 16 - 036

Defect# 03217

Display, Center Part number 39710 - TBA - 305 installed.

I did not receive confirmation from the dealer as requested that the new part installed in the vehicle was any different then the defective part removed.

New part works the same as the old one did before it went bad...

Honda has had my car 45 out of the 70 days I have owned this car. They said they cannot fix this issue at this time and that I simply had to "just deal with it." Will NEVER buy a Honda again after how I have been treated.

Civic Touring 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission

I was driving my normal commute to work, a whopping 6 miles. On the way there my display screen for the nav/audio/climate, just went black and starting going on and off flashing from a black to grey screen. Even my compass by my speed went to a loading circle. I tried seeing if the side camera would work and it took a second to load and it did, but then the screen just went to back from flashing grey to black. after about 2 minutes the screen fixed itself. I have read various other treads and seen this is a problem with other people so I am just contributing to the cause of hopefully a recall happening. If it happens again my car will go into the shop.

Update from Sep 29, 2016: The dealership tried to replicate the issue, without any luck. It also hasn't done this for me again. I do have the subwoofer rattle in the back of civic, which they attempted to better insulate, and it still has the rattle. I have another appointment on Monday to try and get it fixed.

The navigation/radio/climate, etc. screen starting cutting out randomly for a second or two at a time right after I bought my vehicle. It was a serious nuisance, but also potentially a safety issue because at night when it would do this, it was like having a light flashed in your face randomly while driving.

When you listen to music, it does not display any playlist or songs list which is currently playing.

When you listen to Radio station, it does not display which station you are connected to. It shows when you switch or connect it on top bar but then it goes off.

When you load built in clock wallpaper, it does not display or any custom wallpaper too.

I have taken to dealer and they have looked at it. First mechanic asked me to upgrade software. How can it possible??? It is brand new car just bought it last week. Then parts manager come and take a look at the car and said, we have to replace the screen. We have similar problem with 3 car we sold out of 150 civic in 2016. :)

IT NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO HONDA. WHAT KIND OF QUALITY MEASURE CHECK THEY ARE DOING BEFORE DELIVERING THE CAR? I am still waiting get the screen replaced on my brand new car.. Other then this I liked everything else...

Update from Mar 10, 2016: Above Radio button, there is day & night mode of display button; it has 3 options to display contents on screen. Press that button 3 times and it started displaying media and wallpaper content.
